What is the YMCA Sleep Easy?
Our next Sleep Easy event is on Friday 1st March 2013
The YMCA Sleep Easy aims to raise the awareness of the general public about youth homelessness.
On Friday 1st March 2013, we are challenging you to leave your beds for the night, from 7pm until 7am and spend a night sleeping 'rough' with the aim of raising money, and awareness, about youth homelessness and 'sofa surfing'.
We want you to ask people to sponsor you to sleep out for a night to raise as much money as possible for young people in the city.
We want you to join us in Sleeping Rough So Others Don't Have To.
THE VENUE WILL BE ANNOUNCED CLOSER TO THE DATE OF THE EVENT.
The YMCA Sleep Easy has two objectives:
To raise awareness about youth homelessness and help vulnerable young people to build a future.
To raise money to support local projects so that the YMCA can continue to deliver opportunities and support to young people and families in Newcastle.
Homelessness
One of the most basic human rights is to have somewhere safe and stable to live, yet homelessness continues to be one of the worst social problems in Britain today. Click Here to read more.
How can you get involved?
We would like as many people as possible to get involved with the Sleep Easy event to help us prevent homelessness. You can do this by fundraising and taking part in our event and getting as many of your friends and family involved to support the cause.
If you are unable to take part, you are still able to make a donation or sponsor someone who is taking part!
Join in, spend a night sleeping out and help us beat youth homelessness. Sign up to find out where your local Sleep Easy event is.
